- That Kununurra CRC Inc. seeks to wind up its business at the cessation of the current Department of Regional Development funding round at 30 September 2017
- That Kununurra Community Resource Centre Incorporated is dissolved
- That the distribution of assets and remaining funds at dissolution be made to suitable local organisations.
Twelve members were in attendance, including nine Board and three general members.
Motions 1 and 2 were passed 10 votes for, 2 votes against.
Motion 3 was passed unanimously.
As a result, the Kununurra CRC Inc. will be closing its doors on 10 August 2017, which will enable the organisation time to complete its contractual obligations relating to clients, staff and our leased premises. It is expected that the organisation will fully vacate the premises on Banksia Street by the end of September.
Options for the sale and/or distribution of assets to other not-for-profit organisations will be discussed at a Board meeting to be held in the immediate future.
The Board of the Kununurra CRC Inc. would like to thank everyone who has supported our organisation over the past 25 years, and in particular our Manager who has worked tirelessly since 2010 to deliver services to Kununurra and East Kimberley communities. Our staff are central to the services we provide, and the Board is very grateful for their commitment, including our star trainees.
Once again, I thank everyone who has supported the CRC and assisted with suggestions and options for going forward. Many avenues have been explored, and the efforts of all involved are appreciated.
