Local artists (and senior Traditional Owners) Phyllis Ningamara and Agnes Armstrong also attended the event to share their stories of the region with Mr Wu, Mr Yin and members of the business community in the region.
The Kununurra Community Resource Centre is excited to work with members of the community to offer introductory conversational Mandarin lessons beginning in March. If you are interested in learning more about the fascinating culture and language of China, then we would love to hear from you! The Kununurra Community Resource Centre are looking for expressions of interest from people looking to help them get their tongue and Aussie accents around the nǐhǎo's and hěn hǎo's of the general greetings commonly used in mainland China.
Classes will be arranged if we can find between 5 - 8 interested people, with a view to holding classes once a week for a period of 8 - 10 weeks. At this stage we don't have the full costs as this will depend on numbers, but is expected to be in the vicinity of $150 - $230 per participant.
To register your interest in attending classes please contact the Kununurra Community Resource Centre on 9169 1868 or emailkununurra@crc.net.au
