Rossini's play opens with Count Almaviva disguising himself as a poor man to win the heart of young Rosina, whom he has often watchd from afar. The count enlists the Barber of Seville, Figaro's, help to bring them together before Rosina is married off to her old and greedy ward, the Doctor Bartolo, who also has his matchmaking sources. Wit, a race against time, and an array of amazing voices, pulled this comedic and delightful story together.
The fresh lawn was thoroughly enjoyed as a spot to spread out the rugs, chairs and tables and nibble on some cheese and wine. The Community Resource Centre was very excited to see so many people interested in the event and hope to present another opera in the future.
